Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: April 1, 2026
From One Shooter to Another
We're a veteran-owned, no-nonsense gun shop. We love what we do, we respect the craft, and we treat every customer's firearm like it's our own. These terms exist to protect both of us — you and us. They cover federal firearms law, shop safety, and what to expect when you trust us with your build, coating, or repair. Read through them. If you have questions, ask. That's what we're here for.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing the Combat Customs TX website, entering our premises, submitting a contact or service request form, or engaging any of our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions in their entirety. If you do not agree, do not use our services.
- You must be at least 21 years of age to purchase or transfer a handgun and at least 18 years of age for long guns, in accordance with federal law (18 U.S.C. § 922).
- Combat Customs TX reserves the absolute right to refuse service to any individual for any reason, at our sole discretion, without obligation to provide explanation.
- All prices listed on our website, in verbal estimates, or in written communications are subject to change without notice. Pricing errors, whether on the website or in communications, do not obligate Combat Customs TX to honor the erroneous price.
- We reserve the right to limit quantities and to refuse or cancel orders at any time.
Federal Firearms License
Combat Customs TX holds a Type 07 Federal Firearms License (FFL), authorizing us to manufacture and deal in firearms. All operations are conducted in strict compliance with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) regulations, the Gun Control Act of 1968, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- All firearm transfers, sales, and acquisitions require completion of ATF Form 4473 and a successful National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) check, or applicable state equivalent, prior to release of any firearm.
- A valid, current, government-issued photo identification is required for all transactions involving firearms. Texas residents must present a valid Texas driver's license or state ID. Out-of-state residents are subject to additional restrictions per federal law.
- Straw purchases are a federal felony. If we suspect a straw purchase is being attempted, we will immediately terminate the transaction and may report the incident to the ATF. Attempting to purchase a firearm on behalf of another person who is the actual buyer is punishable by up to 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine (18 U.S.C. § 922(a)(6)).
- We maintain an ATF Bound Book (Acquisition & Disposition Record) as required by federal law. All firearm transactions are permanently recorded.

Firearm Transfers & Background Checks
All firearm transfers processed through Combat Customs TX are subject to the following:
- A NICS background check is required for every firearm transfer, sale, or release. No exceptions. This is federal law.
- If your background check results in a delay, we will hold the firearm until the check is resolved or the statutory waiting period expires, whichever comes first. Delays are issued by the FBI/NICS, not by Combat Customs TX. We have no ability to expedite, override, or influence the outcome.
- If your background check results in a denial, the firearm will not be released to you. Transfer fees are non-refundable in the event of a denial. Combat Customs TX bears no responsibility for denials. You may appeal directly with the FBI.
- Transfer fees are posted at the shop and/or communicated at the time of service. Fees are due at the time of transfer, prior to release of the firearm.
- It is the customer's sole responsibility to ensure they are legally eligible to possess and receive a firearm under all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Lying on ATF Form 4473 is a federal felony.
- Firearms shipped to us for transfer must include a copy of the sending FFL's license. Transfers from private individuals must comply with applicable law.
Customer Responsibilities
- You represent and warrant that you are the legal owner of any firearm you bring to Combat Customs TX for service, or that you have the legal authority to authorize work on that firearm.
- You must disclose all known defects, modifications, damage, or safety concerns regarding your firearm before any work begins. Failure to disclose known issues may void any warranty on our work and may result in additional charges.
- All firearms brought to our shop must be completely unloaded before entering the premises. Remove all ammunition from the firearm and any attached magazines before arrival. No exceptions.
- You are responsible for complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding the ownership, transportation, possession, and use of firearms, accessories, and any items we service or produce for you.
- You must pick up completed work in a timely manner. See Section 9 regarding abandoned firearms.
- You must provide accurate contact information and respond to communications regarding your project in a timely manner.
Estimates & Authorization
- All estimates provided by Combat Customs TX, whether verbal or written, are non-binding approximations and do not constitute a guarantee of final price. Actual costs may vary based on the condition of the firearm, parts availability, unforeseen complications, and scope of work.
- Work will not begin until the customer provides explicit authorization, whether in person, by phone, text, email, or through our contact form. By authorizing work, you agree to pay for the services rendered.
- If additional issues are discovered during the course of work that were not included in the original estimate, we will make reasonable efforts to contact you for authorization before proceeding. If we cannot reach you within a reasonable time, we reserve the right to proceed with necessary work or to hold the project until contact is made.
- Turnaround time estimates are approximations, not guarantees. Turnaround times may be affected by parts availability, workload, complexity of work, cure times, and other factors beyond our control. Combat Customs TX is not liable for delays.
Parts & Materials
- Combat Customs TX uses quality parts and materials. We may use OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) or aftermarket parts depending on availability, customer preference, and application. If you have a preference, communicate it at the time of authorization.
- If you supply your own parts for installation or use in a build, those parts are used at your own risk. Combat Customs TX does not warrant customer-supplied parts for quality, compatibility, or fitness for purpose. We are not responsible for failures, damage, or performance issues caused by customer-supplied parts.
- If customer-supplied parts are found to be defective, out of spec, or incompatible, additional labor charges may apply for diagnosis, removal, and rework.
- Parts ordered on your behalf are subject to manufacturer lead times and availability. Pre-payment may be required for special-order parts.
Cerakote & Finish Work
- Color matching is performed on a best-effort basis. Colors may vary slightly from samples, swatches, or digital representations due to substrate material, surface texture, application thickness, cure conditions, and screen calibration. Minor variations in color, texture, and finish are normal and expected in handcrafted Cerakote work and are not considered defects.
- Surface preparation (media blasting, degreasing, stripping of existing finishes) may incur additional charges depending on the condition of the item. Heavily corroded, painted, or previously coated items may require extra preparation.
- Cerakote coatings are warranted per the manufacturer's specifications when applied in accordance with NIC Industries guidelines. However, Cerakote is not indestructible. No warranty is provided against damage caused by abuse, neglect, improper cleaning, exposure to harsh chemicals or solvents, holster wear, impact, or normal wear and tear.
- Masking requests (areas to remain uncoated) must be clearly communicated prior to work beginning. Complex masking may incur additional charges.
- We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, pitting, or surface imperfections that may become more visible after coating.
Payments & Refunds
- Full payment is due upon completion and prior to pickup of any firearm, accessory, or completed work. We accept major credit cards, debit cards, and cash.
- Deposits may be required for custom builds, special orders, and large projects. Deposits are non-refundable once work has commenced or parts have been ordered. Deposits for work not yet started may be refunded at our discretion.
- Abandoned Firearms: If a firearm is not picked up within 90 days after notification that work is complete, it will be considered abandoned property. We will make reasonable attempts to contact you using the information on file. After 90 days, abandoned firearms will be disposed of in accordance with Texas law (Texas Property Code, Chapter 72) and applicable ATF regulations. This may include sale, transfer, or destruction. Storage fees of $5.00 per day will accrue beginning 14 days after notification of completion and are due before release of the firearm.
- We reserve the right to retain possession of any firearm or item until all charges, including storage fees, are paid in full (artisan's lien under Texas law).
- Refunds for completed work are issued at the sole discretion of Combat Customs TX. We stand behind our work — if there's a legitimate issue, talk to us and we'll make it right.
Warranty
- Combat Customs TX provides a 90-day limited warranty on labor performed by our shop, covering defects in workmanship under normal use conditions.
- Cerakote coatings are warranted per the manufacturer's (NIC Industries) specifications for adhesion and performance when maintained properly.
- The warranty is void if the firearm or coated item is modified, disassembled, repaired, or tampered with by anyone other than Combat Customs TX after our work is completed.
- No warranty is provided on customer-supplied parts, including but not limited to parts that fail, are out of specification, or cause damage to other components.
- This warranty does not cover damage resulting from abuse, neglect, improper use, accident, unauthorized modifications, exposure to corrosive materials, or normal wear and tear.
- Warranty claims must be submitted within the warranty period. The firearm or item must be returned to Combat Customs TX for inspection. We will determine, at our sole discretion, whether the issue is covered under warranty. If covered, we will repair or re-do the work at no charge. This warranty does not cover shipping costs.
Firearm Safety & Liability
THIS IS CRITICAL. READ CAREFULLY.
- The customer is solely and exclusively responsible for the safe handling, storage, transportation, and use of any firearm after it leaves the possession of Combat Customs TX. This includes, without limitation, all custom builds, modified firearms, repaired firearms, transferred firearms, and coated firearms.
- Once a firearm leaves our premises, Combat Customs TX bears no liability whatsoever for any injury, death, property damage, or any other loss or damage arising from the use, misuse, storage, or handling of that firearm, regardless of whether the firearm was built, modified, repaired, or coated by us.
- Combat Customs TX does not provide ammunition, reloading services, or reloaded ammunition. We accept no liability for damage, injury, or death caused by ammunition of any kind, including factory, reloaded, hand-loaded, or remanufactured ammunition, used in any firearm we have serviced.
- You acknowledge that firearms are inherently dangerous and that the use of firearms involves risk of serious injury or death. You assume all such risks associated with the ownership, possession, and use of firearms.
- It is your responsibility to ensure that any firearm functions safely before use, including performing your own safety check and function test, and to follow all manufacturer guidelines and safe handling practices.
Limitation of Liability
- All services are provided "AS IS" to the maximum extent permitted by law. Combat Customs TX makes no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, except as explicitly stated in Section 10.
- In no event shall Combat Customs TX, its owners, employees, agents, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of use, loss of data, business interruption, or any other commercial damages or losses, arising out of or related to our services, regardless of the theory of liability.
- The total aggregate liability of Combat Customs TX for any and all claims arising out of or related to our services shall not exceed the lesser of (a) the amount actually paid by you to Combat Customs TX for the specific service giving rise to the claim, or (b) fifty dollars ($50.00), within any twelve (12) month period.
- Any claim arising out of or related to our services must be filed within one (1) year of the date the service was completed. Claims filed after this period are permanently barred.
- Combat Customs TX shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to force majeure events, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, fire, flood, pandemic, epidemic, government action, regulation, embargo, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labor disputes, supply chain disruptions, power failures, or any other cause beyond our reasonable control.

Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Combat Customs TX, its owners, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, suits, proceedings, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees and court costs) arising out of or related to:
- Your use, misuse, storage, handling, or transportation of any firearm, accessory, or item serviced, sold, transferred, or produced by Combat Customs TX.
- Your violation of any applicable federal, state, or local law, regulation, or ordinance, including but not limited to firearms laws, transportation laws, and storage requirements.
- Any third-party injury, death, or property damage arising from or related to any firearm or item that was in your possession, custody, or control after leaving our premises.
- Any misrepresentation made by you, including but not limited to false statements on ATF Form 4473, misrepresentation of ownership, or failure to disclose known defects.
This indemnification obligation survives termination of the service relationship and these Terms & Conditions.
Waiver of Claims
By engaging our services, you voluntarily and knowingly waive, release, and discharge Combat Customs TX, its owners, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, liabilities, and damages of every kind and nature, whether known or unknown, suspected or unsuspected, that arise out of or relate to:
- The services performed by Combat Customs TX.

- Combat Customs TX reserves the right to photograph completed work for use in marketing, portfolio, social media, and promotional materials, unless you request otherwise in writing prior to completion.
- If you provide artwork, logos, or designs for engraving or coating, you represent and warrant that you have the legal right to use and reproduce those designs, and you indemnify Combat Customs TX against any intellectual property claims arising from your supplied designs.
- The Combat Customs TX name, logo, and branding are proprietary and may not be used without written permission.
GunBroker & Online Sales
- Sales conducted through GunBroker.com or any other online platform are subject to the terms and conditions of that platform in addition to these Terms & Conditions.
- All online firearm purchases require an FFL transfer. Firearms will only be shipped to a valid, licensed Federal Firearms Licensee. We do not ship firearms directly to individuals.
- The receiving FFL must provide a copy of their license before shipment. It is the buyer's responsibility to arrange the transfer with their local FFL and to understand and pay any transfer fees charged by the receiving dealer.
- Shipping charges, insurance, and transfer fees at the receiving FFL are the buyer's responsibility unless otherwise stated in the listing.
- Online sales are final once shipped. Returns, if accepted, are subject to a restocking fee and require prior authorization.
- All descriptions, photographs, and specifications in online listings are provided in good faith and are as accurate as possible, but may contain minor errors. Contact us with questions before bidding or purchasing.
Dispute Resolution
- These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
- Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms & Conditions or our services shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Montgomery County, Texas. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
- Before initiating any formal legal action, you agree to attempt informal resolution by contacting Combat Customs TX in writing and allowing thirty (30) days to resolve the matter.
- If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration Rules, conducted in Montgomery County, Texas. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding.
- You waive the right to a jury trial and the right to participate in a class action, collective action, or representative proceeding. All disputes must be brought in your individual capacity only.
- The prevailing party in any dispute shall be entitled to recover reasonable attorneys' fees and costs from the non-prevailing party.

- Combat Customs TX does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
- We collect only the information necessary to provide our services, process transactions, comply with federal and state law, and communicate with you about your project.
- As a Federal Firearms Licensee, we are required by federal law to maintain ATF Bound Book records (Acquisition & Disposition records) for all firearm transactions. These records are maintained in accordance with ATF regulations and are subject to inspection by the ATF. This is a legal requirement, not a choice.
- ATF Form 4473 records are retained as required by federal law (currently 20 years minimum) and are confidential. They are only disclosed as required by law or in response to a lawful ATF inspection or trace request.
